More twisty than the Dolomites and fanatastic scenery!

Scenic coastal-route, that is not only much, much better than the E39, but also takes you to some of the best twisties around. The Northern part of the road is basically straight roads, through open farm-landscape that is found in this form only in this part of Norway. The Southern part gradually gets more and more twisty, and thus gradually more fun.

There is a dedicated website with tourist information www.nordsjovegen.no

This is a truly great ride for those who like twisties. If you ride a cruiser, or a touring-bike with trailer, you should look elsewhere. The route is an orgy in corners, and for lots of the time the road is not really wide enough for two cars (but a car and a bike might pass).

You also go through the charming small-town Åna-Sira, and end up in Flekkefjord (where there are numerous bakeries - ask for a Napoleon-cake!).

The route also pass Jøssing fjord. This was the site of the first WWII-battle in Norway (between British and German forces). Also there are some amazing houses located at the very inner end of the fjord.

This is a very nice road if you like it narrow with lots of blind corners and unexpected scenery around the next bend. The road is so curvy many places that it is virtually impossible to reach the speed limit of 80 km/h, and so narrow that you will have a hard time passing a car some places. It has very steep descents and ascents and is carved into rock the whole time. It is just loads of fun.

A nice selection of switchbacks through some great scenary. Because of it's tight and twisty nature, it's difficult to exceed the speed limit seriously and so makes a nice exception from the expensive speeding fines in this country!!
